Introduction

IES Montevil is the coordinating center for the Erasmus+ KA229 «Three Times Health is Happiness», project that it carries out together with four partner countries: Italy, Portugal, Greece and Austria.

The initial duration of the project was two academic years (2019-2021) but due to the Covid-19 health crisis it was necessary to request one more extension course.

The project is co-financed by the Erasmus+ program of the European Union.

The school has actively participated in international, as well as national projects since 2011. The well-being of students is promoted by working on different projects and giving special importance to physical health, as well as intellectual well-being.

This institute is involved in programs related to the Environment, Health and Science. It has participated in several Erasmus+ projects and in different programs related to health, nutrition and a healthy lifestyle.

IES Montevil is a secondary school with 820 students and 85 teachers, located in the Montevil neighborhood of Gijón, an industrial city in northern Spain. The IES Montevil teaches secondary education and the baccalaureate modalities of Sciences and Humanities and Social Sciences.

The institute has many computer resources, in addition the center gives great importance to the learning of foreign languages ​​and offers the possibility of learning English, French and/or German. There is a bilingual program at the center. It also organizes numerous extracurricular activities and trips abroad.

IES Montevil collaborates with many institutions such as the University of Oviedo, the Gijón City Council and cultural associations such as Cuantayá and Abierto Hasta el Amanecer.
